Xu Liu Receives 2014 Smithonian American Ingenuity Award
Incoming Northwestern Department of Neurobiology professor, Xu Liu, received the 2014 Smithonian American Ingenuity Award along with Steve Ramirez. Their article will be published in the November issue of Smithsonian Magazine (Meet the Two Scientists Who Implanted a False Memory Into a Mouse). Dr. Liu and his colleague manipulated the brain cells of mice into encoding a novel memory – a real live example of inception.
