October 16, 2017
This September, Assistant Professor of Neurobiology, Yevgenia Kozorovitskiy, received an award from the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH). The NIH awards this grant to promising applicants to help fund their high priority projects. For the Kozorovitskiy lab, this means introducing, developing, and applying use a suite of techniques for unlocking the proteome of any genetically targeted neuronal class. One area where the lab hopes to apply the new tools is to determine how rapidly acting antidepressant drugs reshape the proteomic landscape of specific neural circuits in higher-order brain regions affected by major depressive disorder.
