December 5, 2018
Andrew Miri, Ph.D. is the recipient of a grant award from the Whitehall Foundation for his proposal, "Elucidating Functional Elements of Descending Control."
Miri joined the Department of Neurobiology in January of 2018 as an Assistant Professor and set up his lab on Northwestern University's Evanston campus. The Miri Lab "combines novel genetically-mediated approaches for measuring and perturbing activity in neuronal subpopulations with quantitative and model-based analyses to understand this interplay."
The Whitehall Foundation awards grants for life sciences research with an emphasis on funding young scientists. Currently, the foundation's focus is on basic neurobiology research. For more information about the foundation, please visit the Whitehall website.
