Gallio & Stensmyr Labs discover 'sixth sense' that flies use to detect humidity

In a collaborative study, the labs of Marco Gallio, Assistant professor in Neurobiology, and Marcus C. Stensmyr, associate professor at Lund University have uncovered a "sixth-sense" in fruit flies that allows them to detect humidity.  The findings were published in the journal Current Biology and also will appear as the cover story in the May 23 print edition.
