Professor Tiffany Schmidt awarded the Karl Kirchgessner Foundation Vision Research Grant

Neurobiology Professor Tiffany Schmidt has been awarded the Karl Kirchgessner Foundation Vision Research Grant.  The grant is intended as seed money to support research in original areas in the ophthalmologic sciences.  When asked about how the Foundation's grant will support her research, Professor Schmidt stated, "Our research seeks to understand the neural circuits underlying light driven behavior, and funds from the Karl Kirchgessner Foundation will help us make important steps toward that goal. Understanding these circuits will ultimately aid in the design of better treatments to improve visual function in people with retinal diseases."
