Professor Daniel Dombeck Featured in Northwestern Research Annual Reports

Daniel Dombeck, assistant professor of neurobiology, was featured in Northwestern Research’s 2014 edition of Annual Reports. Annual Reports is published yearly to celebrate the excellence in research demonstrated by Northwestern faculty. The article, The Brain’s GPS, by Roger Anderson highlights Professor Dombeck’s research into the role dendrites have with memory formation.

“One of the nice things about imaging is that no one has to blindly trust my research. I can show them the proof; an image says a thousand words,” says Dombeck. “When I realized that this experiment would work, I began to shift my mindset to look for the next ‘impossible’ problem. Neuroscience is driven by techniques, and the engineering of solutions is where my passion lies.”
